And it begins…

The slow, not so painful, decision to go paleo, again. We’re starting off small this time. A few meals a week, gradually cutting things out. I will have at least one Paleo meal a day. Today was breakfast:

  • 2 hardboiled eggs
  • 1 banana
  • black coffee

I feel pretty stoked already!

paleo 30 day challenge: day 1

i decided to start super strict paleo for the next 30 days; starting today. i’m pretty stoked to take it back to where i was from may-oct of last year. i felt the best. i slept well. i had very minimal back pain and headaches. there are so many positive benefits, how could i not start again!

mike, my husband ;), will be doing no beer jan and the paleo breakfast and dinners with me.

a lot has happened since i stopped paleo last time: i quit smoking, i had something very serious happen that i’d rather not talk about on the internet, and i started new medicines for my mental health issues, e.g. depression, anxiety.

i think i can pick it up again. we just need to get back into our routine!

Raw milk demand grows; more Florida farms sell it as pet food

I did the strict 30 days and I just never went back to drinking the milk. Mostly for the following reasons:

  1. I have to drive 1.5 hours to get it
  2. It’s $5 a gallon
  3. I’m the only one in the household who will drink it

I think I may get some for the holidays. I have friends who go out to the market every weekend, so they can pick it up. I am kind of grossed out by milk now. I’ve been drinking coconut milk for so long I don’t even know if I can go back. I think it’s more of a taste and $$ issue than Paleo.

I live in Florida and just picked up some raw Milk on Saturday at a Native Sun, great stuff!!!  John Welborn of CF Football makes some convincing arguments for adding this to your Paleo plan.

Florida calls it pet food, but people crave it and will go underground to get it.

Florida allows the sale of unpasteurized milk only as pet food, yet while a growing number of people want raw milk for themselves, the state turns a blind eye.
Nothing prohibits drinking raw milk. State officials acknowledge that there’s an underground supply chain.

People say it’s a creamier, purer and healthier alternative to pasteurized milk.

Before I started Paleo, I definitley drank the raw milk! Sooooo good.
